Components produced by additive manufacturing require machining post-processing in most cases. Local areas frequently need to be reworked – for example, to add threads or fits. Whether it involves removing support structures, improving surface finishes, or precisely creating fits and threads: in this area, decades of experience in the machining of complex components through milling and turning is combined with additive manufacturing. The result is components that leverage the advantages of both technologies – the design freedom of 3D printing and the precision of conventional machining.
